You will be charmed as soon as you enter into the walled and gated Estate where the Olive Mill nestles.  The two new resident Llamas will peer over the wall to greet you!

Dating back to 1890, the Olive Mill must have stories to tell. The Wow Factor hits you as soon as you enter the spacious hall with full height beamed ceilings and fabulous tiles.  Sleeping up to 14 guests, downstairs are two bedrooms (both en-suite), a farmhouse kitchen and dining room, whereas upstairs (off the mezzanine) are a further 5 bedrooms (all with en-suite bedrooms). Every room has large picture windows which look across the gardens and flood the house with light. Simone has managed to retain all the original floor tiles. doors and windows during the glorious restoration.

The spacious living room sits off the fabulous entrance hall and has huge squashy sofas which surround the original stone fireplace with a roaring fire during winter stays with us. Full height shuttered picture windows flood the home with light. And although  the entrance hall is immense, it has been cleverly furnished with seating and dining areas which gives a cosy feel ....the original olive press is still in situ and a huge Budda watches over you.

All the bedrooms have been lovingly designed with antique iron beds, fluffy duvets and fine thread Egyptian cotton bedding.  Pretty throws provide a splash of colour. Occasional antique wardrobes and chests of drawers have been chosen with care to compliment their surroundings.  Every bedroom has shuttered windows with views across the private swimming pool and surrounding gardens.

Each of the bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom.  One of the downstairs bathrooms has a grab rail for guests who may struggle a little with mobility. Fluffy house towels and organic toiletries (made by the Algarve Candle Company) are provided. Pool towels are also provided.

There is a large private pool surrounded by pretty sun loungers. There are even a couple of the original changing rooms for guests to use.

The Olive Mill nestles in extensive grounds surrounded by oak, chestnut and poplar trees in the Sierra de Aracena Natural Park in an extraordinarily beautiful landscape.  You will feel very peaceful here with the only sound being that of birdsong - there are over 130 different species of birds in this area.   There are plenty of eating areas dotted around the gardens where you can eat al-fresco.  Deer will come to drink from one of the streams.

Feel free to pick a lemon for your gin and tonic! You can jump into the pool, join a mushroom hunting tour, make friends with the rescue donkeys, or just enjoy the solitude and fabulous surroundings which are all just for your private enjoyment. Let us spoil you. A true Midsummer Nights Dream.
